Now that Freezie season, er, I mean summer is here, cold treats are often on our afternoon agenda. I generally make healthy, homemade popsicles (Greek yogurt, pureed fruit & pureed spinach) for the boys, but sometimes, a good old sugar-laden Freezie hits the spot. Unfortunately, my boys often complain about getting cold hands. Scrap bin to the rescue once again! Yep, Freezie cozies (=
I grabbed a few remnants of fleece from my overflowing scrap bin, cut them roughly into rectangles and sewed them along three sides. I snipped off the excess with pinking shears and turned them right side out. And that's it. Definitely not a big-skills kind of project, but lemme tell you, my kids are excited! I made both jumbo and regular Freezie sizes to cover all our snacking bases.

What a fabulous idea Tanya! My kids love freezies but hate the frozen little hands they get. This is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea, especially for my child with Ds because she doesn't regulate her body temp well yet.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Hubby and I still love freezies, but our granddaughter does complain about the cold. I'll have to see if I can find some fabric - I'm not a sewer - and whip some of these up. I love that you made jumbo size too. hehehe

ReplyDeletehaha!..and I just wrap them in a cloth. Necessity is the mother of invention.

ReplyDeleteHi Tanya! Great idea you have here!! I'm coming to you from the Hostas comment you left. I wish that my Hostas would last long enough in the full sun. The full sun in So. Calif. is so strong, it has killed them everytime :o( . I appreciate you comment and I love them so much Im going to definitely make some shade to put them under! :o)
